Journey from Windhoek through Waterberg and Etosha, then follow the Kavango and Zambezi waterways into Botswana for the Okavango Delta, Makgadikgadi region and Chobe River. Day 1 · Windhoek to Waterberg
Travel north from Windhoek through farmland and small towns toward the red sandstone cliffs of the Waterberg Plateau. After checking in, spend the afternoon on a guided nature walk, reserve drive or at leisure beneath the escarpment. The area provides a gentle transition into safari country, with woodland, birdlife and broad views across the surrounding plains. Day 2 · Waterberg to Etosha East
Continue north toward Etosha National Park, passing cattle country and increasingly open bushland. Enter through the eastern side and begin wildlife viewing as soon as you are inside the park. The route to the first accommodation introduces Etosha's pale plains and waterholes, where giraffes, zebra, antelope and elephants may appear before the first full safari day. Each waterhole offers a different possibility, from large herds and raptors to predators resting near the edge of the plains. Day 11 · Maun to Nata and Makgadikgadi
Travel east from Maun across open Kalahari country toward Nata. Visit the edge of the Makgadikgadi salt-pan system when seasonal and road conditions permit, where immense horizons and shallow water can attract large numbers of birds. Settle into the overnight accommodation with time to enjoy the evening colours over the pans or surrounding grassland. Day 12 · Nata to Kasane and the Chobe River
Continue north to Kasane through woodland where elephant crossings are possible. After checking in, board a wildlife cruise on the Chobe River and follow the channels beside the floodplain. Elephants, hippos, crocodiles, buffalo and abundant birdlife are often seen from the water, especially as animals gather near the river late in the day. Day 13 · Chobe and Victoria Falls
Take an early wildlife drive in Chobe before crossing into Zimbabwe. After the border formalities, continue to Victoria Falls and settle into the accommodation. The afternoon can remain free for the town, a sunset activity or rest; when flight schedules require it, the guided Falls visit can take place today and the Chobe drive becomes optional. Day 14 · Victoria Falls and Departure
Walk the rainforest paths with a guide and experience the viewpoints along Victoria Falls, where the Zambezidrops into a deep basalt gorge. Water levels change the character of the view through the year, from heavy spray to clearly visible rock formations. Continue to Victoria Falls Airport for a later flight, with the order adjusted when an early departure is booked. Timing is coordinated with the onward flight or accommodation booking, and additional services can be arranged when required.
