Day by day activities

Day 1

Windhoek to Etosha National Park

Your safari begins with collection from your accommodation in Windhoek between 08:00 and 08:30. Travelling north, we make a short stop in Otjiwarongo for any last-minute supplies before continuing towards Etosha National Park. A light packed lunch is enjoyed en route.

Upon entering the park, we embark on an exciting afternoon game drive through one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations. Covering over 22,000 km², Etosha is home to 114 mammal species, 350 bird species, and an abundance of reptiles and insects. As we explore the park’s network of roads and waterholes, there are excellent opportunities to spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelope, lions, and other wildlife.

Before sunset, we arrive at our comfortable lodge within the park, where en-suite rooms and dinner await. After dark, Etosha’s famous floodlit waterhole offers a chance to observe nocturnal visitors, including elephants and the endangered black rhino.

Day 2

Etosha National Park

Today promises an unforgettable safari experience as you journey through the heart of Etosha National Park from Okaukuejo to Halali Resort. You will explore some of the park’s most productive wildlife areas and famous waterholes, where animals gather throughout the day.

Etosha is home to four of Africa’s Big Five, including elephant, lion, leopard, and the endangered black rhino. Keep your camera ready as large herds of zebra, springbok, giraffe, wildebeest, and other wildlife roam the vast plains. The spectacular Etosha Pan provides a stunning backdrop to your game-viewing adventure, creating unique photographic opportunities.

Your experienced guide will help track wildlife while sharing fascinating insights into the park’s ecosystems and animal behaviour. After a rewarding day filled with memorable sightings and breathtaking scenery, you will arrive at Halali Resort in the late afternoon for dinner and your overnight stay.

Elephants, Botswana

Day 3

Etosha to Swakopmund

After breakfast, we depart for the Atlantic coast via the scenic landscapes of Damaraland, one of Namibia’s most spectacular regions. Along the way, admire dramatic mountains, vast open plains, and granite koppies while passing through remote communities where local Himba, Herero, and Damara artisans sell traditional handmade crafts.

See the iconic Brandberg Mountain, Namibia’s highest peak, rising 2,573 metres above sea level. Continuing west, we reach the rugged Skeleton Coast, famous for its shipwrecks, dense coastal fog, and dramatic shoreline. A highlight is the Zeila shipwreck, offering excellent photographic opportunities.

From here, we travel south to the charming coastal town of Swakopmund. Surrounded by the Namib Desert and Atlantic Ocean, Swakopmund is renowned for its German colonial architecture, relaxed atmosphere, and excellent restaurants. After checking into our centrally located accommodation, the remainder of the day is free to explore this fascinating seaside town.

Day 4

Swakopmund to Namib-Naukluft National Park

Enjoy a relaxed morning in Swakopmund, with time to explore the town or participate in optional activities such as quad biking, sandboarding, or a leisurely walk through the charming streets lined with German colonial architecture. Your guide can assist with recommendations and bookings for any activities.

We then start our journey south-west to Namib-Naukluft National Park. Our route takes us across the Namib gravel plains and through the spectacular Kuiseb and Gaub mountain passes, where dramatic canyons and rugged landscapes showcase the power of nature over millions of years.

We stop at the Tropic of Capricorn for photographs before continuing through ever-changing desert scenery to the small settlement of Solitaire. Arriving at our lodge in the Sossusvlei area during the afternoon, you can relax by the pool, enjoy the peaceful desert surroundings, and prepare for tomorrow’s visit to the world-famous dunes of the Namib Desert. Dinner and overnight accommodation are included.

Day 5

Sossusvlei

On the final day, discover the towering dunes of Sossusvlei, the surreal clay pan of Deadvlei, and Sesriem Canyon before returning to Windhoek through the scenic Khomas Highlands.
